Embroidery and Printing Service from Active Workwear

Please email any enquiry in the first instance to: info@workwearshop.co.uk or complete the enquiry form here.

Most of the active wear garments detailed on our website and  in our standard workwear catalogues can be embroidered or printed as required by you.

Embroidery - Points to bear in mind and elements of the design that we may have to change:

When providing graphics and logos for embroidery please ensure that any artwork provided is clear, especially in cases where there may be fine detail or text.

If we cannot read or see it properly it is difficult to trace and recreate it therefore it is important to provide us with a high quality file.

Colours - Typically most logos are designed and used on white backgrounds, however when it comes to uniforms and workwear, white is not a popular colour. Navy, black and grey are all very popular colours for clothing, so because of this we sometimes need to slightly adjust the colours of your logo so that they can be seen on the colour garment of your choice.

Font Size - this may have to be increased, to embroider text clearly if the letters are less than 5mm height by 5mm wide. We often need to increase strap lines, and trade mark symbols to reflect this when font size is under our minimum requirements to meet our quality check.

Outlines - When reducing the size of your logo to small breast logos occasionally this can look messy. As much as we always try to keep them in your design, an outline may need to be removed to reflect the high quality of your work.

Gradients - Gradients shading can be interpreted by blending stitches together, this is sometimes difficult as there are limited variations of each colour thread. Normally we would remove gradients and choose a colour that stands out the most in the gradient. Again, if it is imperative that your logo contains a gradient, we can try for you, test the outcome and let you make the decision as to whether it works well or not.

Drop Shadows - In print these are created by blending black/grey to a background colour. Again, interpreting this in stitches can have strange results. So, our advice is always to remove them unless it compromises your logo too much.

Please be assured that any change to your logo requires your full approval before your garments go through to final production.

VINYL PRINT - Points to Bear In Mind

Single colour vinyl prints involve a computer-controlled blade which digitally cuts the design out of vinyl before adhering it to the garments by applying heat and pressure. This method of printing is great for large names, numbers or logos that have a contiguous shape. For vinyl prints we find that the best type of files to supply for these types of print are EPS, AI, PDF or CDR files. These are vector based files and are excellent for making up the correct files for this application.

Elements of the design that we may have to change:

Font Size - this may have to be increased, to text is clear if the letters are less than 5mm height by 5mm wide. We often need to increase strap lines, and trade mark symbols to reflect this when font size is under our minimum requirements to meet our quality check.

Gradients, Drop Shadows - As this method is based on flat colour shapes/text, if you have gradients, drop shadows or complex shapes, it may be wiser to go for a different print method.

Colours - We have a vast amount of coloured vinyl to choose from, however, we may not have an exact colour match for your logo.

Please be assured that any change to your logo will require your full approval before your garments go through to final production.

For each printing or embroidery application you have on a garment, a cost is applied. The cost depends on the number of applications you require; the more you purchase, the cheaper the cost of each application. For example, if you order one garment with three printed logos, that would amount to three printing applications.

We will provide an email quotation broken down by cost per item including the embroidery logo application. .Polo shirts, Tee shirts and sweatshirts are the most common items that we embroider onto but all of the ranges of work wear supplied from Snickers Workwear, Blaklader Work Wear, Apache Clothing, Portwest and others are all suitable for embroidery logo application.
High visibility garments are usually suitable for full colour printing such as Hi Viz vests, Hi Vis waterproof bomber jackets, high Viz jacket, Railway Industry garments and highways.
Safety Helmets can also be printed directly on to the helmet (minimum order quantity is 40 for JSP safety helmets)
