What Are Rigger Boots?

Rigger boots are pull-on safety boots with a tall leg and no laces, named after their early use on oil rigs and now widely worn across construction, agriculture and general site work. With no laces to snag or come undone, a rigger boot is quick to get on and off, and the looser fit makes riggers boots comfortable through long shifts. Every rigger in our range has a protective toe cap, and most also have a penetration-resistant midsole.

Lined and Unlined Rigger Boots

For cold, wet winters, choose fur lined rigger boots or Thinsulate lined riggers to keep your feet warm on site. For warmer conditions or indoor work, unlined rigger boots are lighter and more breathable.

S1P, S3 and S5 Rigger Safety Boots Explained

• S1P: toe protection, anti-static, energy-absorbing heel and penetration-resistant midsole. Good for dry conditions.
• S3: everything in S1P, plus a water-resistant upper and a cleated sole. The go-to for site rigger boots and outdoor work.
• S5: rubber or polymer safety boots with full waterproofing and a penetration-resistant midsole.

Steel Toe Cap Rigger Boots and Scuff Caps

Many of our riggers have steel toe caps and steel midsoles, while the JCB Denstone offers a composite option. If you spend a lot of time kneeling, choose a rigger with a scuff cap to protect the toe of the boot from wear.

Men’s and Women’s Rigger Boots

Our rigger boots for men and women come in sizes 3 to 15, so there are options for smaller and larger feet, including ladies looking for rigger boots in smaller sizes.
