The Features of Our High Visibility Workwear
- by Cathy Houghton
The importance of high visibility workwear cannot be underestimated, providing visibility whether in the day or night in all manner of workplaces including on roads, motorways and any other construction environment or building site. At Active Workwear, we know that these items can help prevent accidents, or even death, by giving you the option to be covered top to bottom in our high visibility workwear.
Variety of Items
For instant top to toe cover we provide high-vis coveralls, and of course you can get your high-vis gear separately, including a range of high visibility tops. This range of tops includes both vests and t-shirts, as well as those with long sleeves, as well as jumpers and garments with space for tools. We also stock high visibility trousers and shorts, also with those including additional knee support and space for tools. We have different high visibility jackets and other waterproof items. We also stock waterproof high visibility arm bands with space for ID, enabling the user to attach them to any garment of clothes adjustable to each person.
Bright Range of Colours
Our high visibility collection is available in a wide spectrum of colours to help the worker stand out against any likely background. Yellow and orange are the most popular choices, so we have a wide range of items in these colours. Some items are also available in red or black, depending on the product. Vests can often be supplied in a wider range of colours, which may include green, pink or two-tone designs. These may be useful for dividing up teams, for example, for use during festivals. Most importantly, all are fitted with the desired reflective bands that make them highly visible, with items listed as class 3 offering the highest level of protection, with others being class 1 or 2.
Reflective and Protective
The main purpose of high visibility workwear is to offer reflective surfaces that in turn offer the wearer protection through its reflective properties. Known as a PPE (personal protective equipment) there are additional properties some of our high-vis workwear contains to protect you further. One example is our jackets that make use of Hi-Vis Gore-Tex, offering protection from water and wind, able to stand extreme weather as well as remaining breathable. Those with fleece provide warmth and protection from cold weather, whilst being lightweight and quick-drying. With these great jackets, it’s possible to keep dry inside them, offering you complete protection in wet weather.
