Steel Toe Cap Wellies for Wet & Muddy Work
Our safety wellies give you the protection of a safety boot with the waterproofing of a wellington. Most styles come with a steel toe cap and steel midsole for protection against falling objects and sharp objects underfoot.
Popular choices include:
- Dunlop Acifort Warwick: a PVC and nitrile rubber welly with an oil-resistant outsole.
- JCB Hydromaster: S5 rated, with an SRC slip-resistant sole and a wide fit.
- Portwest FW94 and FW95: great value for everyday site work.
For extra grip and comfort on long shifts, the Portwest Neptune FW75 is a lined rigger-style wellington with a steel toe and midsole.
Thermal Safety Wellies
Working outdoors in winter or in cold stores? Dunlop Purofort wellies are made from a lightweight insulating material that Dunlop says is up to 35% lighter than PVC or rubber boots:
- Dunlop Purofort Thermo: insulates down to -20°C.
- Dunlop Purofort Thermo+: goes down to -50°C.
Both are full safety wellies with a steel toe cap and midsole.
White Wellies for Food Processing
For food production and processing, our white safety wellies are easy to keep clean and resist fats and oils:
- Dunlop Protomastor: resists animal and plant oils and fats, blood, disinfectants and a range of chemicals, with a steel toe cap.

Safety Wellington Ratings Explained
Our safety wellies are tested to EN ISO 20345:
- S4: a waterproof polymer boot with a protective toe cap, antistatic properties and an energy-absorbing heel.
- S5: everything in S4, plus a puncture-resistant midsole and a cleated outsole, making it the go-to rating for construction and groundworks.
- SRC: the highest slip-resistance rating under the standard.
- CI: cold insulation.
